About Sarah
I hold a PhD in Literature from Cambridge University and an MA in Victorian Literature.

Ever since my university days, the call to teach has been as strong as my passion for my subject; throughout my time at Cambridge, I taught undergraduate courses and supervised dissertations. My experience of small group teaching developed when I joined Liverpool University as a teacher on their Victorian and Modern Literature courses. I have published articles in the English Review and the Journal of Victorian Culture.

Since qualifying as a teacher in 2005, I have taught English to students ages 11-18 and I’m immensely proud of my record for helping students achieve outstanding grades in public examinations and nurturing in them a life-long passion for the subject.

As a senior tutor at St Paul's Girls' for more than a decade, including a period spent as a member of Higher Education Team, I have substantial knowledge of the Higher Education system and am extremely well placed to guide students through the application process from start to finish.

I can make a similar claim for my knowledge of the 11 plus system having been involved in various aspects of the selection process throughout my time at St Paul's. In my role as English Deputy I assisted the Head of Department in the painstaking task of double marking all comprehension scripts and in attending the school's final meeting during which admission decisions were agreed.
My tuition service is a distillation of the kinds of experience I have gained over my years in education and of the things I do best and enjoy the most.
